Spiritualism New Zealand organisational form
Spiritualism New Zealand is a registered charity. That means we are run by a Board elected by members of our community via the Annual General Meeting.
The Spiritual Healing Subcommittee
Spiritual Healing Subcommittee is chaired by Anne Roughton. This committee looks after applications for people wishing to become provisional or registered spiritual healers. They also deal with any queries relating to our healers. If you wish to ask any questions relating to our healing activities, please contact Anne at treasurer@spiritualism.org.nz.
The Promotions Subcommittee
Promotions Subcommittee is chaired by Barbara Hand. This committee is responsible for organising the weekends of workshops around the country, the webinars, the retreats and any other activities that promote Spiritualism New Zealand. Meetings are generally held about every 6 weeks or as a need arises. If you have any queries regarding this area of our organisation, please contact Barbara at registrar@spiritualism.org.nz.
The Spiritual Healing Training Subcommittee
Spiritual Healing Training Subcommittee is chaired by Barbara Hand. They are in the process of putting together a two-year course for those who wish to become spiritual healers. The committee meets by zoom as and when there is a need at this stage. If you have any queries regarding this area of our organisation, please contact Barbara at registrar@spiritualism.org.nz.

Currently, we have a Board that oversees all Spiritualism New Zealand activity across the country. All members of our Board are also on one or more sub-committees where a lot of the day-to-day work happens.

Board Meetings
Our full Board meets quarterly, via Zoom so that Board members from around the country can participate without needing to travel. A typical agenda covers:
- Confirmation of minutes from prior meeting
- Matters arising
- Correspondence
- Treasurer’s reportSecretary’s report
- Registrar’s report
- Healing report
- Promotions report (including events, webinars)
- General business
Next meeting dates are confirmed at the end of each meeting.

Annual General Meeting 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to cancel our national retreat and so our third AGM was held via ZOOM on 27 August 2020 with members linking in from all around the country. We were sad to farewell Kay Howard who has done a lot of work on our new website but thrilled to welcome Amanda Cartridge and Lyn Herriot to our Board.

Our second AGM was again held at the beginning of our Living Spiritually national retreat, held over the weekend of 16-18 August 2019. We were excited to welcome two new board members, both of whom are committed to working towards continuing to expand our spiritual community.
